Avocado (1/4, diced)
Pinto Beans (aprox. 1/8 cup)
Goat cheese, grated (1 Tbsp)
Lime Riesling Chimichurri del Norte (1 Tbsp)

Sound Bites Loves the Tacoma Broadway Market

Sharon can be found at the Tacoma Broadway Farmesr Market Each Thursday From 9 am - 2pm

Sharon can be found at the Tacoma Broadway Farmesr Market Each Thursday From 9 am - 2 pm

Every Thursday, Sound Bites Sauce & Spread Co. loads up some hummus and chimichurri and heads down to the Broadway Farmers Market. Located just a few blocks from our kitchen, the Broadway Market is one of our favorite local markets. This Thursday, you can sample our hummus and chimichurris as well as have a chat with our market rep. Sharon. Sharon can answer all of your questions about Sound Bites products as well as any you may have about tea; it’s only appropriate that Sound Bite’s resident Brit also runs her own tea company!

Planning to head to the Market this Thursday? Here are our suggestions:

1. Head to Grand Central Baking and pick up a delicious baguette.
2. Bag some fresh grown tomatoes from one of the many fabulous local growers.
3. Taste all the scrumptious cheeses at Williapa Hills Farmstead Cheese ,then snag some of their tasty, spreadable, Baw Faw Peak Yoghurt Cheese.
4. Hit up the Sound Bites booth and pick up some fresh chimichurri.
5. Head home, slice the baguette, spread on the cheese, add sliced tomatoes and drizzle a little chimichurri over the top, then warm in the oven.
6. Eat quickly before anyone asks you to share! (Or double the recipe and invite over a lucky friend!)

E-news Winners (and a Delicious Hummus Recipe!)

Julie Kinn shops for Sound Bites at the Proctor Farmers Market in Tacoma.

Julie Kinn shops for Sound Bites at the Proctor Farmers Market in Tacoma.

Several weeks back we received the following recipe from Julie Kinn of Tacoma featuring our Merlot Red Bean Hummus:

Ingredients:
Large flour tortillas
Merlot Red Bean hummus
Red onion, sliced
Raw spinach
Sun dried tomatoes (or sliced fresh tomatoes)
Salt and Pepper

For each wrap, use about two tablespoons of the hummus, which works like a glue to hold everything else in. Also, I don’t use the ultra healthy whole wheat tortillas; since this is already vegan and super healthy, I go for the traditional white flour tortillas. Live a little!

We tried out Julie’s recipe and it was delicious! We featured it in our e-news and Julie won some Sound Bites sauces and spreads which she picked up at her local market, the Proctor Farmers Market in Tacoma. If you have a Sound Bites serving suggestion you’ve been keeping under your hat, send it in! If we feature it in the e-news you could win some Sound Bites goodies! You can enter by emailing it to news@eatsoundbites.com or on our new Facebook page here.

Speaking of the new Facebook page, we recently ran a little promotion via Facebook for our e-news subscribers (missed the memo? head back to the Sound Bites main page and sign up for our e-news to make sure you’re always in the loop). Below are our winners who all scored a free hummus:

1. Deborah Worthington
